The new annual Arts & Edges Public Festival, announced by Country Arts WA CEO Jessica Machin, will this year be part of the biennial Regional Arts Australia Summit the nation’s most prestigious arts gathering to be held in Kalgoorlie-Boulder. The Goldfields is set to extend its reputation and appeal as an internationally recognised cultural tourism region with the announcement of an annual public arts festival for the iconic WA city of Kalgoorlie- Boulder. The festival will add to the cultural reputation of the Goldfields which is already internationally recognised for its Aboriginal art, the last remaining Philip Goatcher curtain in the world and Antony Gormleys world class Inside Australia sculptures at Lake Ballard, attracting thousands of annual visitors each year. In its inaugural year the Arts & Edges Public Festival will be significantly extended by the creative program of the Summit boasting world-class speakers and arts presentations that will bring hundreds of artists, arts and community leaders to the city.

Residents and visitors alike will have a unique experience of the Goldfields through the death defying aerialists, fire acts, street performers, vibrant ‘pop up’ art markets, a multi-cultural food fair, Aboriginal arts and cultural performances, colourful parades and Australian rock legends Nabarlek, on stage in a celebration of regional arts and culture that will coincide with ideal weather and the blooming of the unique springtime desert flora.
